🎃 Our Fall Break is right around the corner! 🎃October has been extremely busy with not much time to think or post— from hosting wedding welcome parties, to Ted Talks, from live music at the raw bar and hauling lobster traps and oyster cages, to celebrating one of our long-term employees last shifts as she is about to make a move to Portland (more on that later of course 🥲) and to catering events off-site, we have been so lucky to be busy!

🦪 This week we are open today (Tuesday 11:30am-7pm) and we will have our last public seating at 5pm on Friday as we welcome in our final wedding welcome party of the season! 🦪

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY THIS SUNDAY 10/25

🎶 this Sunday from 1-6pm our customer appreciation day kicks off with live music from Ellie Buckland (an iconic singer/songwriter from Maine who has toured nationally and is in the state for a hot second visiting) and Liz Lannon (a Maine based songwriter who can sing and play the fiddle like no other!) Ellie’s father Andy will be accompanying as well, he is a rock solid multi instrumentalist and music teacher at Morse High School, which we think is so sweet! We are so honored to have this musical trio in action for the first time on the deck to celebrate our customers! 🎶

🧑‍🎨 Our 2026 OystHER Artist Lin Snow will be joining us on Sunday as well with a pop-up shop! Please come to meet her and view/purchase some of her other amazing works! 🧑‍🎨

🌭 and of course, we will have some giveaways and door prizes and COMPLIMENTARY RED SNAPPERS as a way to show our appreciation to our loyal customers and community. We would not be what we are today without people coming through the doors and supporting small & family-owned businesses 🌭

🌞 It’s been a great summer and an even better fall (the two do seem to blend together a bit for us these days) and we are excited to take a short rest to get the sea farm prepared for its winter slumber 🌞

❄️ We will open the day before Thanksgiving so you may have fresh oysters on your gathering tables and we will continue to be open weekends through New Year’s Eve! ❄️

Tonight is our last grilled oyster and songwriter night of the season (lol no don’t worry we are not grilling the songwriters 🤣🤣)! Featuring Brett Shain and Roger Sampson starting at 5pm! The fire pits and cozy blankets will be waiting for you! 🎶 we love Brett’s original music, this is one not to miss! See you soon!

☀️ Good morning! ☀️

🌈 We are excited to announce our customer appreciation day happening on Sunday, October 25th from 1pm-6pm! We will have our 2026 OystHER artist Lin Snow on scene with a pop-up shop and live music from songwriters Ellie Buckland and Liz Lannon until 4pm. We will have merch giveaways, door prizes, oyster specials AND we are taking Glizzy McGuire 🌭 out of retirement (our hot dog machine) to provide complimentary red snappers for all that attend. Thank you for all your support over the last four years and we look forward to celebrating our beloved customers! 🌈

💍 As we gear up for a busy weekend, tonight we will have our last public seating at 5:45pm as we welcome in a wedding party this evening 💍

🎶 THIS EVENING at OystHERS we are so excited to host The Work Trucks from 5-7pm with grilled OystHERS Rockefeller for our Monday evening songwriter series🎶

💫 last Friday OystHERS was awarded the 2026 downtown small business award from the Maine Downtown Center, part of the Maine Development Foundation 💫

We were joined on stage by Main St. Bath & Bath Savings to accept the award at the LL Bean headquarters in Freeport.

♥️ To be recognized on the state level for an award as prestigious as this one was a massive honor. While we were receiving it, OystHERS staff was back at the bar prepping busy Friday morning duties: Helen was slicing freshly delivered sheets of focaccia bread from Solo, Rhian was setting up the oyster basin, and Aspen was taking care of the slew of deliveries that are important to our weekend operation on the Kennebec River ♥️

♥️ Our staff and returning customers are the heart of OystHERS, but we would like to especially thank our family: our mum Lisa for believing in us and our youngest sister Mollie who shows up quietly behind the scenes helping on the floor year after year. Our community members near and far, thank you as well. To our oyster farmers, vendors, distributors, plumbers, electricians, pest control technician, our CPA, our lawyer, our delivery drivers, the Maine health inspection program, the DMR inspectors, the city codes, the parents that drive their kids to work, the wedding parties, our laundry service, our contractors (any small business owner knows the list goes ON) thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping business rolling, as we all have our jobs to do and some days are not easy♥️

🎃 We are open all weekend through Tuesday until October 27th, then we break and RETURN the day before thanksgiving with holiday hours through New Years Eve🎃 have a great first week of October! 🎃

🌬️ well it’s been a dreary one this weekend, but nice to see some rain come through the area 🌬️

🎵 and due to that rain we are post-poning our grilled oysters and live music night to TOMORROW! Tuesday, same time same place! 5-7pm with songwriters earl and margot 🎵

📕 our final summer book club meeting will happen tomorrow as well inside in the pink room from 5:30pm-7pm where we will discuss Candlemas Bay by Ruth Moore. Though it could be hard to read through at times due to the old-timey dialect and fishermen lingo, we loved this novel because it felt like we were stepping back in time. It also had some very good twists and turns and secrets that kept us wanting more. Ruth has a special way of capturing commercial fishing and generational family drama📕

🌧️ So! It will be a busy Tuesday tomorrow at the bar! With that being said, we are still open today (Monday) with the rain from 11:30am-7pm. Stews and chowders and chili are hot and here! 🌧️

⚓️ Five years ago co-owner Lauren was working in Dutch Harbor, Alaska— teaching high school English during the day and tending bar and waitressing during the night to save up the capital to open OystHERS Raw Bar & Bubbly back home in Bath, Maine ⚓️

🦀 Her most lucrative night out in Dutch was when a Bath-Built-Destroyer came through and the naval officers feasted on king crab and steaks at the restaurant Lauren was serving at. Lauren venmoed her sister Sadia the bounty and Sadia picked up slightly used/semi-new equipment off Facebook marketplace to get their oyster bar off the ground 🦀

⚓️ The day after that shift, Lauren went down to the docks and shed a tear of pride because she had never actually seen a Destroyer outside of the shipyard in Bath and it was a moment that has impacted the way she thinks about her home and the shipbuilders behind it all ⚓️

This past week, OystHERS was visited by one of Lauren’s former high school students from Dutch Harbor, Ayla, who is now in the Navy awaiting her ship being built at Bath Iron Works! Crazy how moments in life come full circle every now and then. We don’t know what’s crazier— the fact that Ayla made her way to Bath, or the fact that all our Facebook marketplace equipment is still working 😂 🤞🏼⚓️

🌼 it is a stunner of a Tuesday morning out there, and by goddess after allllot of summertime heat, these crispy September days are what we live for 🌼 the raw bar is open from 11:30am-7pm, come soak up the sunshine while she lasts 🌼

🌼 this Saturday night, we are also excited to be joining Maria & Keith Salcines at the Maine Maritime Museum from 7-10pm for a masquerade dance party featuring cocktails by Jackass Annie and music by Dr. Fuzz to celebrate the season and the flowers that come with it! 🌼 we will have our raw bar set up with shrimp cocktail and caviar bumps for all you dancers! 🌼 tickets available on the Maine maritime museum website, don’t miss it! 🌼
