Y’all need to stop judging Juke for what she did to Aunt Raq. Saying, “How could she do that to her aunt?” or “Raq was like a mother to her” doesn’t tell the whole story.
The Juke we knew was already gone. After everything she endured over those five seasons—losing Nicole, the constant battles with Marvin, being traumatized by her mother and the church, losing her mom, losing the one thing that truly made her happy, her singing, always feeling overshadowed by Kanan, carrying the family’s deepest secrets, then losing Uncle Lou and her father—Juke was completely broken.
She wasn’t thinking about Aunt Raq the way she used to. She simply couldn’t anymore. She had reached her breaking point. Sometimes people don’t make choices from a place of sanity—they act from years of pain, trauma, and anger. And that’s exactly where Juke was. Trust me, she was not the same Juke anymore.
