Unfortunately, after fourteen years of business we had to close our doors at the end of 2023. Established in 2010 in the center of downtown Barrington Illinois, McGonigal’s Pub has been voted “Best Suburban Irish Pub” in the Chicagoland area and is also ranked as one of the top Irish Pubs in the nation. y beers on tap with our “perfect pour” recognized Guinness pints being some of the best you’ll get anywhere outside or Ireland. Our full food menu has a great variety of options and features delicious Irish fare - fish and chips, shepherd's pie and boxtys are some of our top sellers - plus we easily have the BEST reubens and burgers in the region! We also have a kids menu, late night menu for dining after 10 PM and provide fantastic daily food & drink specials. Our first level is a classic Victorian style pub with a huge bar that's set up perfectly for socializing, and also includes "The Vault" seating area which is inside an actual bank vault (our building was originally an old bank, circa 1913). Our second level is more Irish cottage/sports style, featuring another full bar, several HDTVs, jukebox, ample seating for dining, plus it's available for special events, private parties and banquets. We have two music stages and feature a variety of live entertainment - Irish, rock, blues, and solo artists - every weekend, and some weekdays too. There’s something for everyone at the Pub, and you don’t have to be Irish to enjoy yourself here! McGonigal’s Pub is open at 11 AM seven days a week for lunch and dinner. We are conveniently located at 105 S. Cook Street in Barrington IL, just two block from the Barrington UP Northwest Metra Rail station and less than a block southeast from Rt. 59 and Lake-Cook roads. Sharing our Memorial Day post from 2022... on the last day of the holiday weekend, remember that today is to honor those who fought and died for our country. We are the land of the free because of the brave.

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. Today we remember and honor all the brave heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

The Pub is open today for regular service and regular hours (11 AM - 1 AM). It's that time of the year for the annual Barrington Art Festival! We hold many fond memories of this event, as for over ten years were proud to be THE featured place that hosted the artists receptions, and provided cold beverages outside in the middle of it all while also being open for indoor dining and drinking... happily serving the festival patrons and participants alike!

The two-day festival is this Saturday & Sunday (May 23-24) from 10 AM - 5 PM, and we'll be there with you in spirit.

For the past few decades they've been sold together as a package, and the best overall deal would be to purchase them this way.
