THRIVE REOPENS IN ONE WEEK 👏🏻

Our doors reopen for service on Wednesday, May 6th! This is our 12th consecutive season in business and although things will look and feel so similar, behind the scenes Thrive is evolving and transforming. If you missed our post and announcement from early January, Megan (a founding partner and operator of the business since its conception in 2015) has stepped into full ownership of Thrive. This move was part of a long-term plan and was made with support and positivity from her founding partners and friends, Jena and Jeff Young.

As Megan embarks on this new chapter, with it has come her decision not to renew Thrive’s lease at 51 Rodick Street after the 2026 season. While Megan works on securing a new space that will align with her long-term vision for the business’s future, you can expect the same great food, service and experience when you visit Thrive at 51 Rodick Street this season.

Please come celebrate and support us in our final year on Rodick Street. This location has seen us through a tremendous amount of growth and been a very special home for Thrive over many years. Follow along this summer to learn more about Thrive’s exciting next chapter. We look forward to continuing to serve the Bar Harbor and MDI Community for many more years to come.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO OUR LOYAL REGULARS:
Our “Mermaid” smoothie bowl is still here (don’t worry!), but now called the “Majik Vanilla” bowl. We’re always striving to be better and this renaming has created a clear differentiation between the “Blue Mermaid” smoothie and what was the “Mermaid” smoothie bowl (always similar recipes, but very different menu items). The goal here is to help eliminate any possibility of misinterpreting orders or miscommunication between our staff and our customers on the wildest of summer days to ensure you always get just what you asked for.

WE’RE HIRING!

Thrive reopens in early May and we’re looking for two more Line Cooks to round out our back of house kitchen crew. Work begins in early May and extends through late October. Employee housing *might* be available for the right candidates.

Kitchen experience is preferred, but we are willing to train anyone who is an ideal fit for our company.

Eleven years ago, the three of us sat around a table and dreamed of creating a place where fresh, vibrant food could fuel busy days and big adventures. That dream became Thrive Juice Bar & Kitchen, and we are proud of the work we have done together.

And just like that the 2025 season is officially over 😢

We’ve tucked everything away for the winter, cleaned like crazy and we’re ready to be in hibernation mode 🥱

A big thank you to our crew (a few not pictured!) for a fantastic season. You all play a part in what makes Thrive so special ✨

And we appreciate each and everyone one of you that stops in to support our little shop, without you we don’t get to do what we do! 🤍

When we close for the season, we often get asked, “what happens to all your leftover food?” 🥑🥚🍏

Here at Thrive we hate waste and try our very best to have as little left as possible, but what fresh food we do have left we donate to our local food pantry (which happens to also be right next door to us!!)

We encourage other seasonal businesses to think about donating any left over fresh food to the when closing up for the season.

It’s an important time to take care of our community and show support to our local food pantry 🤍

Spotlight on Mel 🌟

Melissa came to work with us for the 2023 season and loved Bar Harbor but left to continue traveling when it was over. Last year we needed some help later in the summer and she decided to come back and join us for the fall of 2024. She ended up making Bar Harbor her home and has come back to spend another season with us 💕

We all love working with Mel and she can really do it all - some days bouncing between making our cold pressed juices to making smoothies to chatting it up on register. She is a great team player and always a blast to work with! 💥
