Thank you all for keeping my body and mind very busy this weekend. Father's Day Weekend is always an emotional one for me and it's sometimes very good to get out of my own head and not think about the 'what ifs' and the 'I wishes'. I've now lived 51 of my 55 years without my father. He was taken at the young age of 33. Didn't see his girls grow up. Missed graduations, weddings, grandchildren, life in general. Sometimes things suck and we just have to act as if they don't and keep moving forward. Sometimes we miss people we hardly remember. So, this morning before work I sent text messages to my husband because he's a wonderful father, our sons godfather because he's a wonderful godfather, my step-dad because he's a wonderful step-dad and grandpa and my father-in-law because he's a wonderful dad and grandpa. It would be nice to be able to tell one more person. One day.
