Wild Wines of Sonoma Mountain
An Evening with Sean Castorani & Joanna Wells of Model Farm
At The Black Olive, the wines we cherish most are not simply selections—they are relationships.
On April 30, we invite you to experience something rare: an intimate evening with Sean Castorani and Joanna Wells of Model Farm, whose work on Sonoma Mountain is redefining what California wine can be.
Farming historic vineyards with intention and care, their wines are shaped by elevation, wind, and soil—crafted through native fermentations and a philosophy of restraint that allows each site to speak clearly. These are wines of precision and quiet power, recognized with critical acclaim, including 95+ point Cabernet Sauvignon and standout Chardonnay bottlings.
The evening unfolds as a progression—beginning with oysters and house-cured gravlax, moving through scallop with blood orange, za’atar-seared tuna, wild mushrooms on grilled sourdough, and into the depth of Sonoma Mountain Cabernet paired with tenderloin and our Pythagorean Pie.
Each course is designed with intent—not simply to accompany the wine, but to elevate it.
Guests will have the opportunity to:
• Meet and engage directly with the winemakers
• Explore these wines in depth
• Access limited-production bottles at preferred pricing
This is not a traditional wine dinner.
It is a conversation—between vineyard and kitchen, between those who farm, those who cook, and those who gather at the table.
Limited seating available.
Reserve your place at the table.
