I've got to get better at taking pics of my food after I cook. Thankfully, our customers do.... Bulgogi Lamb chops, smothered turkey chops, and sauteed spinach over grown folks grits. Now I'm hungry....leftover barbecue it is.... 🤣

Put It On The Gritz is Popping Up again!

When: Resurrection Sunday, April 9th
Time: 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Where: The Alley - Spike's Place - 3527 1/2 Dolfield Ave. Baltimore, MD

You can stop by to pick up or sit, fellowship, and enjoy your meal. Indoor as well as outdoor seating will be available; weather permitting.
You may pre-order on our website or place your order when you arrive. We expect to sell out so pre-order or arrive early if you can.

Well, Put It On The Gritz made it through our first pop up and it was challenging to say the least. A lot of lessons were learned yesterday.

Lesson 1 - I'm not an octopus. I wanted to cook the food, plate, check to make sure everyone's items were in the bag, be at the window to hand out meals and greet everyone but those pots and pans had me in a choke hold.

Lesson 2 - The team can't read the recipes that are in my head. Who knew 🤷🏿‍♀️

Lesson 3 - Rice doesn't cook itself. Yeah, we had a few rogue folks that won't be seduced by grits but we love and forgive you.

Lesson 4 - We forgot that the one thing folks show up on time for is food. We hate having to wait for our food and we're extremely upset that you had to wait for yours. I turned around for a quick second and saw one of my sisters Kandyce Pinder looking at me like she was going to climb through the window and make her plates herself. 🤣 We sincerely apologize appreciate everyone's patience. Our promise is that it won't happen again.

Lesson 5 - Yall really are into lamb..... I mean really into lamb. We had no clue.

So many lessons that I can't list them all but we truly love you and appreciate your support. We are planning the next pop-up so stay tuned. A huge thank you to my daughter Yvonne Johnson and Pam's daughter Bree LovesHim . I thought Yvonne would be able to take pictures and video to document the occasion but she ended up on shrimp duty and other duties as assigned.
