1.5YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOTE DROP & ICE CREAM SOCIAL! Sunday July 12th, 10am-2pm
Salmonberry Green Grocer, 6405 32nd Ave NW

We worked right through our anniversary last fall… so help us celebrate better late than never :-) We want to gather and be in community with y’all so we’re throwing the first ever Salmonberry Ice Cream Social and launching a totally cool tote bag!!!!

Last summer we reached out to our incredibly talented buddy Charlie who builds our aprons and ballcaps by hand White Bark Workwear about embroidering totes to celebrate our shops 1 year anniversary.

It turned into an LA/SEA design sesh that ended with a run of custom salmonberry totes in the make and craft of our favorite baker workwear.

We’re launching these for sale alongside FREE SCOOPS of tangy strawberry fermented ice cream (v) made with perfect June bearing strawberries grown by Hayton Farms Berries into sourdough waffle cones long fermented with local grains and made fresh this Sunday at the shop 10-2 to celebrate. Come hangout with us and ur community 💚🧡

Help us spread the word!! Tag a friend you want to bring for fermenty ice cream or a tote and wish us a happy 1.5!!!!!

MARKET SABBATICAL

This is bittersweet. We’re taking an open-ended break from farmers market, so this Sunday, June 14th, will be our last for now.

The farmers market has been one of Salmonberry’s great loves. This whole thing started with just the two of us, riding our Convoy Coffee bike carts to the corner of Ballard Ave and 22nd. That was twelve years ago, and some of you have been here since day one.

In the past few years, we’ve expanded our home deliveries of Salmonberry Farm Box and Essentials to hundreds of households. We opened Salmonberry Green Grocer, a little bakery-grocery on the hill by the sea that’s a love letter to our town and our region. And though it feels crazy to step away from something we love as much as the farmers market, we’re incredibly excited to get expansive and pour ourselves more wholeheartedly into our work.

We’ll still be at the market, but on the other side of the counter. We’re stoked to use the extra bandwidth to hunt for the best produce for Salmonberry Farm Box and unique fruits and veg for bakes.

We also want to write. Feeling more radical than ever, and we’ve been working on a newsletter called Almanac: more on that soon. join our email list at salmonberrygoods.com.

WHERE TO GET YOUR SALMONBERRY FAVES

Get Salmonberry Farm Box or Essentials for deliveries of your favorite staples and small farm produce year-round. You can also place orders without a subscription for pastries, kombucha, or anything you like from our bakery menu.

Come visit the Salmonberry Green Grocer, open 9am–8pm every single day, just up the street from the market.

The energy we capture from market Sundays has fueled us for so long. Waking up at 2am and watching the light change through the bakery door, baking and bagging hundreds of pastries and loaves, finding inspiration for new recipes, and sharing countless beautiful small moments with so many of you. We’ll be spending more time on events and at our shop, so we know we’ll be seeing you and building those connections that have grown so deep over the years.

We don’t know when we’ll return to the market, and that’s ok. We’re trusting our hearts and taking a leap.

Love,
Salmonberry 🧡💚

WE did this!! TOGETHER we raised $3,147 for and y’all ate 235 bagel toasties in one morning!! I’m still trying to wrap my head around sharing a dream of being helpful to your community and then watching that SAME community magnify that love so big. Our bakery is just down the street from the Ballard Food Bank, and we see them providing nutritious food to long lines of our neighbors all day. We’re so passionate about making real food accessible, and we were a little nervous about pairing pay-what-you-can with a fundraiser bc we wanted to raise money but also have anyone be able to walk in and grab a bagel for breakfast. But when you let your guard down and just let people be people, magic happens. THANK YOU for reminding me that TOGETHER we can make meaningful change.. hits different rn. Love y’all! Should we do another one??
