The wine was delicious…
But our pesto was the star!
Missed out on Tasty Wednesday? That’s ok! There will be plenty others to join us and taste wines from our collection!
Yesterday we featured 5 wines to pair beautifully with our Peak Pesto season. Some came out on top! Some were not the favorites, and that’s ok too. Pairing with pesto we decided to offer complimentary pours rather than contrasting flavor profiles— that means light, chilled reds, acidic yummy whites and of course, two incredible bottles from the land of pesto: Liguria.
With both Punta Crena wines from Liguria, their new vintage arrival was just in time for our tasting having arrived from Italy just days prior. Your first sips of these wines were ours as well, the new vintage beautifully expressing Pigato in the dreamy characteristics promised. Across the tasting board, Pigato was a revisited option aside bites of focaccia and our house Genovese Basil Pesto.
As much as your Via Rosa 11 hosts attempted a love connection between the guests of Tasty Wednesdays and the wine pours, the true star was the Genovese Basil Pesto.
Are we surprised? Not at all, it’s delcious and we don’t call this season Peak Pesto for no reason. It really is a magic condiment, herbal, peppery, floral and high quality. Our pesto is made by hands that share generational knowledge of pesto making. It’s in our DNA.
So to answer the questions to our audience directly:
- Yes, we do make our own pesto. It’s a family recipe, it’s outstanding.
- Yes, in the market our pesto is available every day. If the market is open, the pesto is on the shelf.
- 100%. You can enjoy as much pesto as you wish.
For the rest of the summer we are featuring Peak Pesto…it’s time for you to come in and taste this besto pesto for yourself!
