To our fellow customers, family and friends:
For 55 years our family has taken pride in serving our beloved community in the West Valley. Since my earliest of memories,Tony’s was my home away from home. To this day, customers fill in the gaps of my earliest memories at Tony’s. They still joke with me that they remember when I was a kid and they saw my feet dangling from those red dining room chairs; I could barely touch the floor.
As the years went on, I would no longer have to worry about my feet dangling from those chairs, instead I hit the floors running where I too worked as a server while I was in high school and college.
During my time, I had the opportunity to meet our customers that had been dining with us since the inception of our business. For some of you, your family tradition of dining in at Tony’s was passed on for several generations. It was a beautiful thing to watch your families grow as the years flew by.
They say when you shop local you are supporting the families of that very establishment. That support includes paying for kids summer camps, sports activities, college, etc. While all of these things mentioned are tangible ,there are also a lot of things that YOU all gave me and my family that are intangible. Being around the business during my formative years taught me about people, how to best serve them ,how to provide them hospitality and the biggest one of them all, how to connect on a human level. I have personally moved on from the restaurant world and moved into my career but believe me when I say these ideals have been deeply rooted in me because you gave us the opportunity to serve you.
I am thankful for all of those years you allowed me and my family to learn these valuable lessons and skills.Being able to see my family own a business was a dream come true. Some may even say we lived out a version of the American dream. While we are closing our doors today, I want everyone to remember that these dreams and ideals of taking care of one another are very much alive and well within us and our communities. I ask that you remember that the next time you shop and support a local business. I thank you and everyone for this amazing run.
