That's a Wrap on Our 2026 Season!

Thank you all for another wonderful season at Cups & Cones! We are so grateful for our amazing customers, both locals and visitors, who made this year so special!

With another nor'easter blowing through Hatteras Island, we've decided to let Mother Nature have the last word and close a week earlier than planned.

Thank you for all the smiles, laughter, and ice cream memories this season! We couldn't do it without you!

Stay safe, stay warm, and we'll see you in the spring of 2027 for more scoops, homemade waffle cones, and all your favorites!

Great news for Hatteras Island! 🙌

NCDOT is amazing! A huge thank you to all the crews who have been working so hard to get NC 12 reopened. ❤️

For those of you who decide to get out of the ferry line and wait until Wednesday to head north on NC 12, we’ve got you covered. 🍦

Cups & Cones is OPEN today from 4–9 PM!

We’re fully stocked with 40 flavors of ice cream, homemade waffle cones, sundaes, milkshakes and plenty more.

So skip the ferry line, relax for the evening, and come get some ice cream.

See you from 4–9!

Standed on the island with Ice Cream? We can think of worse things.

The wind has finally laid down, the road may still be closed… but thankfully, our ice cream delivery beat the storm! That means the freezers are stocked and all your favorite flavors are waiting for you. Come grab a cone, build a sundae, or treat the whole family.

Homemade waffle cones, sundaes & banana splits are all waiting for you. We also have our espresso menu if you need an afternoon pick me up.

There is plenty of indoor seating.

We wanted to make sure you can get your pumpkin fix at Cups & Cones! Our pumpkin ice cream is the perfect fall treat all on its own in a waffle cone—or turn it into a pumpkin sundae with hot caramel and really celebrate the season!

Well… this is a first!

Every once in a while, something happens at Cups & Cones that makes us smile—and this handwritten letter definitely made our day!

A family visiting the OBX stopped by for some ice cream after dinner. While enjoying their scoops and floats, they noticed a few of their younger family members having a little fun around the flagpole… and apparently, things got a little too exciting. 🇺🇸

They discovered that our flagpole had been broken and tried to let us know, but as anyone who has visited Cups & Cones knows… when that line is long, our crew is BUSY!

So, after their vacation, they actually took the time to write us a letter, explain what happened, and even enclose money to help cover the damage.

We have to say, we were pretty impressed by their honesty and kindness. ❤️

And then came our favorite part…

To the family who wrote this letter: thank you for being so thoughtful, honest, and kind. We truly appreciate it—and we hope you'll come back to see us the next time you're on the Avon.
