We understand there has been a little bit of confusion regarding our upcoming policy changes and would like to go a little more in depth with the introduction of the minimum spend and answer some of the questions we’ve been getting for the past few days.

Effective April 15, 2026 we will introduce our new minimum spend policy. These changes are going in place to make sure we can provide a comfortable space for everyone to come play and enjoy time with friends and family. Given the untraditional turn times of our tables, our staff does not get the usual turnaround time of a casual restaurant and will often be with groups for 5-6 hours. These changes help us make sure we can provide our staff with a stable job they can continue to enjoy.

$25 minimum spend for each guest during our prime hours (Weekdays after 5PM and all day on Saturday and Sunday) if a tab is under the $25 we will apply a $5 adjustment to the tab.
This does NOT apply to: • Paid reservations • Ticketed events  • Kids 12 & under • Bar seating

Examples:
• A group of 5 walk-in for a friendly game of commander on a Saturday evening are expected to hit $125 in food and beverage across the table. If the total came out to $79 a $5 adjustment would be added to any tab under that $25 threshold.
• 2 people come in for a fun date night with a game of Boop. They each try one of our seasonal cocktails with a meal and desert coming out to $53, NO adjustment would be made to their tab
• A family of 6 share a large table on a Tuesday night, their total comes out to $80 across the board BUT 3 of them are under the age of 13, there would be NO adjustment to the tab as they’ve passed the threshold
• 3 friends are meeting up one evening to get some school work done. They each get a large London fog (their favorite) and close out. There would be a $5 adjustment added to each person’s tab because their total came out to $5 – raising it to $10 total.
• A long running campaign is reaching their conclusion so they rented out a booth for $55 but ate beforehand. They just stick to water and café drinks, their 5-hour experience is EXEMPT from this thanks to them booking in advance

Every great tavern runs on good food, great drinks, and tables full of adventurers.

To make sure we can continue providing a comfortable space for games and consistent quality service, as of April 15th, 2026 we’re introducing a small minimum spend during peak times:

$25 per guest
Weekdays after 5PM + all day weekends
If the minimum isn’t reached, a small $5 table adjustment will be added to the tab.

This does NOT apply to:
• Paid reservations
• Ticketed events
• Kids 12 & under
• Bar seating

We always want Emerald Tavern to be a place where you can gather, play, and stay awhile - this helps us keep that experience going strong during our busiest times. Thank you all for the best support over the last 13 years, we look forward to being your go-to spot for many more

Holiday weekend is upon us! 🐰

We will be closing for Easter Sunday this year, but do not worry our hours will remain the same Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th. Come spend your Saturday at the tavern, grab yourself one of our Easter themed minis and some nice pastel paint, maybe even a hop water… get it?

Attention students of Strixhaven!

We will be hosting our MTG: Secrets of Strixhaven pre-release on Friday April 17th & Saturday April 18th. We have limited spots each day due to product allocations so get in quick. Each ticket includes one pre release kit & a drink ticket good for any draught or cafe item!

Colleges will be FCFS on the day of the event to avoid any confusion with kits

ATTENTION ADVENTURERS: We are excited to announce we will making changes over into a new menu starting tomorrow March 25th! 🍻

For those of you who have been with us for years you will be excited to hear some of our old classics are making their return! We have revamped and brought back our Samosas, Scotch Eggs, Buffalo Cauliflower, Tavern Chili, & Pub Mac!

We are saying goodbye to a few items including; Brisket Pie, The Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Potato Cakes, and Goblin Kabobs 🫡

We look forward to sharing this change with all of you and hope to hear your feedback as we cross over into this new menu 💚
