"If you have an occasional craving, as I do, for Middle Eastern cuisine, then you should try Shandeez on Anderson Mill. For starters the Hummus is smooth and nicely textured, and the Tabbouleh has a very fresh flavor and is not too spicy (as can sometimes be the case). The Soltani mixes skewers of steak kabobs and ground beef, served with a grilled tomato ov
er basmati rice. This dish has a strong yet very appealing flavor. I also like the Baghali Polo with Lamb Shanks. You want flavor? Here ’tis. The lamb shanks are stewed with onion and saffron, and are a real treat. The Kohresht Greymeh Bademjan is another find. This is tender beef with eggplant with basmati rice. It’s a beautiful dish. You could drive by this place, but you wouldn’t want to. It’s next door to Filipino restaurant Meng Dedoy, and they make a hell of a one-two punch. Check out their full menu at shandeez.com."
