How awesome is this old truck?
Sitting out front of Gulf Diner on Main Street in Aurora, Indiana, it feels like the truck belongs to the building behind it. This little roadside spot started life as a service station back when travelers along U.S. 50 would pull in for gas, oil, and a quick stop before heading down the road along the Ohio River.
Today the old station has been given a second life as The Gulf Diner, operated by the same folks behind J. Miller Steak Company just down the street. They kept the vintage character of the building and even the Gulf branding, which makes it feel like stepping back into another era of roadside America.
I always see old abandoned service centers and think how awesome they would look fixed up. Here is a prime example.
