The Story Behind San’s Kitchen & Catering
San’s Kitchen & Catering is more than a culinary & hospitality business it is a story of love, legacy, resilience, and purpose.
“San” comes from Cassandra, the beloved mother of Chef LaSandra. Cassandra passed away in 2023, but her spirit continues to live on through the work and passion that fuels this kitchen every day. While navigating the deep grief of losing her mother, Chef LaSandra made a powerful decision to transform that pain into purpose by building something that would honor her mother’s legacy for generations to come.
Cassandra was more than a mother. She was a pillar, teacher, and inspiration who helped shape LaSandra into the woman and chef she is today. In the kitchen, Cassandra shared more than recipes. She passed down values: strength, perseverance, creativity, and faith. She taught LaSandra to believe in herself, to never take “no” as the final answer, and to never give up on the gifts God placed inside of her.
Cooking together in the kitchen became a foundation of love and learning. Alongside other influential women in LaSandra’s life, like Ms. Annie, Cassandra helped cultivate a passion for food that would eventually grow into something much bigger than a hobby.
Today, San’s Kitchen & Catering stands as a tribute to that influence. Every dish created carries the heart of those early lessons…Food that tells a story, meals that bring people together, and experiences that create lasting memories.
This business is not just about serving food. It is about legacy. It is about using cuisine as a way for people to celebrate life’s milestones, honor their own stories, and gather around the table in meaningful ways.
At San’s Kitchen & Catering, every plate represents something deeper:
love, resilience, family, and the belief that great things can grow from even the hardest moments.
And through it all, the spirit of Cassandra—San—continues to guide the journey.
