Hankering Southern Kitchen is proud to be part of the Dolly Parton Tribute Trail! In celebration of Dolly’s Southern roots, unforgettable music, and generous heart, we’ll be offering special Dolly-inspired menu items—and donating 10% of every featured item purchased to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Founded in 1995, the Imagination Library sends a free, age-appropriate book every month to registered children from birth to age five, regardless of their family’s income. Today, the program delivers more than three million books each month, helping children around the world discover the joy of reading.

This cause is especially meaningful to our family because our own children have experienced the excitement of receiving Imagination Library books in the mail. We know firsthand that these aren’t just books—they’re bedtime stories, special moments and the beginning of a lifelong love of learning.

Come celebrate Dolly with us, enjoy some scratch-made Southern cooking and help put more books into the hands of local children—one delicious meal at a time.

Because, as Dolly reminds us, when children are inspired to dream more, they can learn more, care more and be more. 💛

You can taste the difference between food that was opened…and food that was made. 🍅🔥

These tomatoes weren’t poured out of a can and called soup.

We smoke them.

Then we turn them into our **Smoked Tomato Bisque** using just **five simple ingredients**.

And here’s the thing — having a recipe doesn’t mean you know how to cook it.

Making something truly from scratch takes training. It takes knowing when the tomatoes have enough smoke. Knowing how much of each ingredient to add. Knowing when one flavor needs to come forward and another needs to pull back.

There isn’t a button for that.

There isn’t a bag you cut open.

It takes a trained palate, repetition, and someone in the kitchen who understands what the food is supposed to taste like.

**That’s what “made from scratch” means to us at Hankering.**

When you spend your money dining out, you deserve food somebody actually took the time to **make**.
