Dear friends, family, and those in arms reach of a hug, Today Gaglianos received its worst case situational news. The building that Gaglianos, Forbidden Fruit, and Legalize Maine are located, are being forced to close due to conditions of building. Afore mentioned business areas of operation are clear of all issues, and/or obstructions related to the building. As we just received this information this morning, approx 1100hrs, we are, and have been trying to consider relocations here in Augusta, or else where. We want, and strived to be about and help support the re-vitalizations of the downtown area. There has been so much support and love from the community, we are keeping your thought, prayers, and suggestions in hand and mind!

Not any way in which either of the owners wanted to inform our loyal customers ...

Gagliano's Italian Bistro plans to reopen Saturday after addressing safety concerns; but Mark Zaloga, who owns the building at 287 Water St., announced he plans to evict all tenants within two months rather than bring the building up to code.

Final update! As of effective IMMEDIATELY Gagliano's been approved to re-open. However, we have decided to remain closed for tonight. The owners of Gagliano's have decided to give the kitchen ample time to create the quality dishes you have come to expect of us. We will RESUME normal hours of operation tomorrow from 3-9.

Update #2. The electrician and plumber have blessed off on all issues. Now is the paper trail of approval to all proper departments. Our goal is to be open for 5 o'clock for dinner. Those who have made reservations for this evening, I will be informing you of the final decision as soon as I received proper notification.

Here's our first update. Tomorrow morning at 8am an electrician will be coming in to inspect wires. Considering the age, condition, and maintenance of the building, the owners have taken the time and extra step to ensure ALL WIRES and PLUMBING are up to code per our level of responsibility, and then some within our legal limits. We will not move further with plumbing inspection till we have the green light form the electrician.

In response to the news article, the owners of Gagliano's have been working vigorously, since 9 this am to correct issues that have been discovered with in the area of the building in which we are located. Considering recent fires, and other safety hazards, it is in everyone's best interest to have these items fixed so we can continue serving our loyal customers. The out pouring of public support in light of the issues has been emotional! We will update soon.

We will be OPEN regularly on July 4th, AND A2D2 will be playing their wonderful Jazz tunes with us from 6 to 9PM !!!!!!!

We will be featuring Specialty drinks such as Strawberry-Rita, Peach Cobbler, Espresso Martini, Limoncello Martini, Italian Margarita and many more made with our in house made with real fruit liqueurs.....yum!!!!

Both Alan's, and both Dave's in this 4 piece jazz band, A2D2. Are amazing, chill, relaxed, smooth, and very colorful sound. Come on down have a glass of wine and listen to the music!
