🍺 Behind the Brew: Cleaning the Fermenter 🧼
Great beer starts with a clean brewery. Before every batch, our fermenters go through a thorough cleaning and sanitizing process to make sure every pint is free from unwanted flavors and contamination.
Here’s how it works:
🔹 Remove all fittings and attachments to soak in a hot caustic solution.
🔹 Rinse everything with hot water.
🔹 Soak all parts in sanitizer.
🔹 Using our brewhouse pump, recirculate caustic through the fermenter.
🔹 Rinse with hot water.
🔹 Recirculate sanitizer to sanitize every surface.
🔹 Reassemble the fermenter and use CO₂ to purge out oxygen and other gases.
Only after every step is complete is the fermenter ready to receive fresh wort and begin its next journey into beer.
It’s not the flashiest part of brewing, but it’s one of the most important. Clean equipment makes clean beer—and clean beer lets the ingredients and craftsmanship shine. 🍻
