🧩 THE MEANING BEHIND PUZZLE PIECE SWEETS
So I’ve had several people ask me what the meaning is behind the name and some even suggested i share the backstory. Well, here it is:
Yes, I love creating fun treats. I love taking an idea, a favorite character, a color scheme or a special occasion and turning it into something sweet and fun.
But Puzzle Piece Sweets was never meant to be just about desserts.
The inspiration behind this business comes from two of the most important people in my life—my children, Elaina and Lucas, who are both autistic. 🧩
As their mom, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about their futures. I’ve thought about what opportunities will be available to them as they grow older, and about how important it is for every person to have somewhere they are welcomed, valued and given the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way.
And somewhere along the way, a dream started growing. ❤️
My long-term dream is to grow Puzzle Piece Sweets into something much bigger than a home bakery—a business that creates meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
A place where different abilities are celebrated.
A place where someone’s strengths matter more than their limitations.
A place where everyone has something meaningful to contribute.
A place where every person has a piece. 🧩🌈
That’s why the puzzle piece means so much to me.
Every cakesicle I dip, every cookie I bake, every farmers market I attend and every custom order I receive is another tiny step toward building that dream.
