Good Morning! To all of you who have supported us, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Last night Cheryl and I made the gut-wrenching decision to close The Goose. Effective immediately.
As some of you may know, I pretty much shattered my right ankle and severely sprained my left ankle on August 2nd. I ended up in the hospital for 9 days and then was finally able to have the surgery to put a LOT of hardware in my ankle. Cheryl has been working SO HARD ever since to keep The Goose going. The fact of the matter is, The Goose can’t afford the payroll required to “replace” me. And, unfortunately, it will be the better part of a year before both ankles are ready for me to bear weight on them for any extended length of time, and even then I will likely have swelling issues for years. My career as a chef ended on August 2nd.
As co-owners, Cheryl and I have been working for almost 2 years without pay; knowing, of course, that it takes years to make a business successful. Well, we feel like achieving a 5-star restaurant rating is a good way to go out. We are a culinary success. Unfortunately, in the age of COVID, we could never quite achieve the financial success necessary for us to continue.
Thank you ALL for keeping our dream alive for as long as you did!!
