Yesterday we were asked to prepare the proteins for a good friends "friendsgiving" celebration...We did a 21lb turkey and a 10lb ham...turkey was done on the offset using red oak for fuel and rubbed with Kosmo's Q Competition BBQ Products dirty bird, and basted with a rosemary butter. The ham was done on our Masterbuilt gravity 1050, using Kingsford charcoal for fuel, and B&B Charcoal cherry wood chunks for flavor.
We were honored to be able to make this happen for our friends, and glad everyone enjoyed the meal! It was a great time had by all!

Though it doesn't reflect in the scoring, my chicken was leaps and bounds better than yesterday in my opinion(completely new on the fly recipe).and my ribs were slightly better yesterday. it was a fun weekend for a good cause!

Overall I feel like we did better than we should have honestly. I thought today's cook was sub par and the judges were generous with our scores, but I'm glad to see these rankings with the caliber of teams I am cooking against!..there are some real heavy hitters here.. We do it all again tomorrow!!

Yesterday was our first competition of the year in Enfield connecticut.it started off really wet but ended up being a gorgeous day in the afternoon.we cooked what we thought were some of the best ribs we've ever done!, Unfortunately the judges didn't agree and placed us in the middle of the pack. Thank you to The Meat Bar Marketplace for the amazing Hatfield Meats ribs we were able to serve the judges...I wish we would have been able to get a picture of them,but it slipped our minds as we were in a hurry for turn in.
