A quick Thai food fact: not every Thai dish is cooked in shrimp broth.

Thai cuisine does not begin with one universal base. Depending on the dish, flavor may come from curry paste, stock, sauces, herbs, or a combination of ingredients. Some Thai recipes contain shrimp paste or other shellfish ingredients, while others do not.

At Simply Tasty Thai, Chef Nancy makes our curry paste from scratch. Making it in-house takes more work, but it allows us to know what goes into the paste and build the flavor our way.

This statement applies to our curry paste itself—not automatically to every ingredient or every dish on the menu. If you have a shellfish allergy or another dietary concern, please tell our team before ordering so we can discuss the ingredients and possible cross-contact for your specific dish.
