We have watched first dates turn into family traditions, celebrated birthdays, welcomed familiar faces and served countless scoops to so many you. One of the earliest documented examples dates back to 1892, when a soda fountain in Ithaca served vanilla ice cream with cherry syrup and a candied cherry.
