Hello, I’m Chris, currently residing in Atlanta but proudly hailing from Uganda, the second-largest exporter of coffee in Africa. Some news 🔄‼️ we’re very excited to announce a new chapter for Ola Verde ☕️ while I’m finishing up a masters program in Barcelona this year, I found a company to roast and pack our coffee in a green way 🌱 and I’m very excited to share my new partner, Chris, will be taking over this new chapter from Atlanta. I’ll allow Chris to introduce himself properly in the following post, along with an upcoming event this week 🚀 we’ll have our website updated shortly. Thank you for your support 💚💙🐢

Rarely do I drink coffee with milk or sugar added. However ☺️ every once in a while, its good to get creative. In the South African bush, I really enjoyed this Mocha choca rula 🇿🇦 it was a French pressed coffee mixed with milk and cocoa powder 😋 what’s your favorite fun coffee drink?

So happy to have Peruvian coffee back in stock 😍🇵🇪 I stumbled into one of my most meaningful coffee experiences along the Incan trail a few years ago. On day 4 of a 5 day hike up to Machu Pichu, I unexpectedly walked through coffee trees and a stand for hot coffee. It will forever be one of the best cups of coffee that I’ve enjoyed 😌

The last 7 days have been super busy with lots of positive action in the Chicago area! Pic 1 - completed a neighborhood cleanup in West Loop coordinated by our good friend Dan at . Pic 2 - we were able to take part in a Composting Summit at UIC, a full day of meeting with key stakeholders to promote composting culture across Chicago (more on this in a future post). Pic 3 - cleanup on the south branch with an inspiring group of people 🚀

Coffee 🤝 Composting ♻️🪴= the perfect match together 😊 it was a pleasure spending some time with Collective Resource] recently learning more about . All of our roasting waste and spent coffee grounds are composted in the Collective Resource] orange buckets, which are picked up on our doorstep every 2 weeks in Chicago. Please consider them if you are interested in starting to compost your home food scraps (and coffee grounds) 😁

All March coffee sales will contribute towards a donation we will make to the Spartan Strong Fund 💚 As a proud graduate of Michigan State University, I’m still shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic events that took place on campus last month. We hope our contribution can make a difference to those Spartans looking to recover and move forward!
