Today, we had a customer in to have lunch. They had four beers, appetizers, and a two meals totaling to around $70. When they came up to pay, the lady said she only had a check, which the staff member up front described as a work check or money order, told he cannot take this type of check, she would need to take it to the bank first, which the lady ask if she could go do that first and then comeback to pay. The staff member said he could and to leave a phone number before she left. When we tried calling her back near the end of the day, it said the number was disconnected or not available.
We understand that everyone can have financial problems and we, as a business, are flexible with that fact. However, we do not tolerate customer saying they will comeback to pay and not doing so.
As for going forward we will not be allowing this to happen again.
If anyone in the community knows this couple, please let them now that they have a bill of around $70 to pay us back
