It’s a privilege to know the hands that feed us. 🌱 🙌 ♥️

When we can track nearly every ingredient on our plate to a single origin just miles from home, the benefits are countless. It’s so much easier to create exciting dishes when you start with great ingredients and Athens truly has the absolute best. This July Farm Dinner featured 15 local growers, producers, and small businesses. Thank you for joining us this weekend and helping keep our economy local!

Since starting this Farm Dinner series with Attican Farms three years ago, I’ve wanted to present my own interpretation of Ghormeh Sabzi, a traditional Iranian bean stew. I usually let the ripest seasonal harvest guide my menus, but this year, Kara gifted me homegrown dried beans noted to be “beefier than beef,” and with the ongoing war in Iran, anchoring our first dinner of 2026 around this dish felt poignant and timely.

I will always believe the best way to understand a culture is through its art: culinary, music, theatre, writing, etc. Bean stew is bean stew, whether from the Middle East or Appalachia, but learning a dish’s unique history and preparation bridges the gap between us.

This meal wove Persian influences together with traditions of French, Italian, Appalachian, Spanish and more. Thank you for supporting these global culinary experimentations and exploring our shared similarities! 🌍🍽️ 👩🏻‍🌾

Our first ever Brunch Lab service is in the books, and we couldn’t be happier!

Thank you to every single person who came out, grabbed a plate, and spent part of your Sunday with us. We love feeding this town and appreciate you showing up to support us again and again. ♥️

A massive thank you to and their stellar taproom & bakery staff. Thank you for opening your doors to us, pouring incredible pairings, and being the most gracious hosts. 🍻

Shoutout, of course, to the Gimme Gimme crew for dialing it in, keeping the line moving, and running a smooth service. Great work today!

And, of course, our food is only as good as the ingredients we use. We are endlessly lucky to work with an amazing network of growers, millers, and makers from the Athens area and Ohio at large who elevate every single dish. Huge love to:

🚨 The BRUNCH Lab is official! 🚨

We are beyond thrilled to bring the Gimme Gimme experience to the Jackie O’s Taproom on May 31st at 10am! 🍻🍳

Just like our Lunch Lab, we’ve been dialing in every recipe to bring you a menu that is equal parts comforting and intentional. We are bridging the gap between the brewery and the kitchen, utilizing Jackie O’s ingredients right in the food, and leaning heavily on our incredible community of local growers.
