It is with the heaviest heart that we make this announcement. Yesterday, in Gearhart at his home, we lost Ethan Hoskin. Ethan was one of the founding team members of the Silver Salmon Grille over 25 years ago and he has cared for the guests of the Salmon ever since. Ethan has touched more lives than he probably ever realized. Ethan had a way of connecting to people that truly showed what it means to be kind, empathetic, caring, and compassionate…Truly irreplaceable! He was always the most requested staff member from guests because of how incredibly well he took care of people. Ethan was the pulse of this house and without him the Silver Salmon will never quite be the same. We cannot put into words how deeply he will be missed and how we feel he was taken from us far too soon.

We will be holding an open memorial at the restaurant for Ethan on Wednesday, September 16th, from 2pm to 5pm. We would absolutely love for everyone who knew Ethan to come join us so we can all celebrate his life, tell stories to each other, and rightly mourn his passing.

Cheers Ethan, we will miss you greatly!
