We're a worker-owned cooperative dedicated to our tenants of joyful work, strong community, and delicious food using local and organic ingredients to handcraft bread, food, pastry, and coffee since 2004. Our coffee drinks are made with Astoria Coffee Co. organic and locally roasted fair trade coffee; organic milk or milk substitutes; homemade organic syrups; and love. We buy local, organic produce

and use organic ingredients in our pastries, bread, and food! Our windows look north toward the mighty Columbia River, and there is a small park on the south side of the building that is perfect for summer picnics.

Our Pay It Forward program has been in use since February, and has been a resounding success!! We have a regular group of about 15 folks that come through for a free meal and a cup of coffee, as well as many one-off people, and travelers, and we are proud to be able to be a conduit to serve our community in this way.

And we couldn't do it without you. For five months now, we have been able to feed the food insecure members of our community using our ingredients at cost and your donations. Thank you for your continued support! We have such a good community and amazing patrons, thank you for being part of what makes the Scorcher so magical 💙

Please ask your barista about how to donate to the community gift card that funds our program! And when you come in hungry and short on funds, we've got your back (and your lunch) 💙

!! MUTUAL AID REQUEST !!
Grem Toad is our friend and an important and amazing member of the Scorcher kitchen crew. On their way to work this morning, they were hit head-on by a reckless driver that blew through a red light without stopping. They are physically okay, but the crash totaled their beloved van, which was both their mode of transportation and their home.
If you can, please consider donating to their venmo or cash app, or stop by the shop and add some cash into the collection jar on the front counter. Every bit goes to helping them replace their van and recover from this tragedy.
