At 5:00 PM today, we held the drawing for Goonies House Coin #499 of 500, and we’re excited to announce that Jennifer Wirkus is the winner!

Jennifer wasn’t able to be here for the drawing, but I spoke with her shortly afterward and she was absolutely thrilled to hear the news. We’ll be keeping coin #499 safe and secure until she’s able to pick it up.

Today was really special. Thank you to everyone who came out for the Grant Leslie Walk and took the time to share stories, memories, laughter, poetry, music, and moments about a deeply caring and unforgettable human being. It was powerful to see so many people from across Astoria come together to celebrate a man who made this town feel smaller, kinder, and more connected just by being part of everyone’s daily routine. Grant had a way of making people feel seen, and hearing all of your stories reminded us just how many lives he touched during his walks from coffee shops to bookstores to local businesses all over town. Thank you for helping honor the life of this amazing man. ❤️
