Before/After of a small porch facelift. New porch posts and trim, added a storm door and handrail for steps. I never stop being amazed at how much a small glam up like this gives such a huge improvement. Message me if you could use a similar upgrade or need any other home improvements.

Folks, I was working outside in the direct sun yesterday when I looked at my phone and saw this. Said it felt like 115, I was thinking more like 150 :) The heat this week has been brutal and it put a lot of strain on people's AC units causing folks to be without air in their house at all. Several of you have reached out for window units to borrow. Unfortunately, I no longer offer them. I really wanted to be a resource for folks needing emergency air but it turns out these units aren't built for being moved around frequently. They kept going bad and I couldn't afford to keep buying new ones.

So instead, I'm going to encourage you to comment on this post if you need a window ac unit. I'm also encouraging any of you who may have an extra AC unit to respond to the request and see if we can match up people in need with anyone who can help them. Hopefully this works out for several of you.

Hope everyone has a Happy and safe 4th of July. Happy 250 America 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Just to update, all the free stuff is gone except for a few medical devices that I'm going to donate to another organization. As many of you already know, the Free stuff goes quickly, I probably had 100-150 folks come the first day and 90% of it was gone within hours.

Free stuff days are randomly done when I have accumulated enough stuff donated to have one. To be notified of the next free stuff day please click on Ashland Area Tool Library and follow the page.

We are approaching 10,000 followers, so if you haven't followed yet please do, thanks.

Update: it's all gone, follow the page to get notifications on the next free stuff day.

Still have some free stuff left if anyone wants to stop by, it's all from the telephone pole to the crutches on the end only. The lawnmowers or other equipment isn't part of it. I will be gone today cutting yards so if you see something you want just grab it and go.

Free stuff day! Probably have the most stuff I've ever given away at once. Light fixtures, tools, rugs, building materials, medical equipment, DVD's, clothing, heaters, coolers, box fans, a little bit of everything.

First come first serve, I don't ever hold anything for anyone.

It'll all be out until it's gone today and tomorrow if necessary.

If you want any of it it's best to come ASAP because it often goes quickly. 1604 Spring Park at the tool library.

Before and After steps refresh. If your steps are looking like they've seen better days, I can often repair them and make them look beautiful at a fraction of the cost of replacing them, even when they are looking really rough. Message me for a free estimate for this and other home improvement needs you may have.

If anyone is available and would like to volunteer, I have several needs this weekend.

1- Any small engine mechanics, I again have a backlog of mowers that need work. There are 5 that need carb cleaning and one that needs a body swap. Several others with varying issues.

2- Want to continue organizing the tool library. Clean out the tool library attic to prepare for another "Free Stuff" day and make more room for Christmas items storage. Also if it isn't raining too much I have some outside reorganization to do as well.

3- I have 4 yards to do this weekend, if anyone would like to help they are all local in Ashland, within about a 1/2 mile of the Tool Library. I could use someone to weedeat and use the blower while I mow.

Please message from the page if you can help. I appreciate any time you can give and thank you in advance :)

Many of you remember that about 3 weeks ago my riding lawnmower, that I use to cut yards for folks in need of help, caught fire and burned. What happened after that left this old guy, who is never at a loss for words, speechless. The outpouring of kindness and support to get me back out there helping folks was truly awe inspiring. I literally lost count of how many folks offered to help. Some sent donations and some brought me used mowers, even more people offered used mowers, and one wonderful couple bought me a brand new one. There were so many offers that with some of their permissions, we were able to gift riding mowers to a three families I knew who desperately needed them- folks who had borrowed push mowers from me for years but who's yards are so big made it very difficult for them to do. What follows is more details of the whole thing.

First, I want to let those who sent cash donations that I used those funds to order chains for two of the mowers I kept for myself and weather covers because with my garage so full of tools for the library I have to park the mowers outside. Most of the used mowers that were donated needed some work to function so I also used some of your donations to get them up and running. I thank you so much for your love, kindness and support. ❤️

Second, I told some of you this already, but to those of you who offered mowers that I didn't take, it really is the thought that counts. I appreciate all of you who offered, I truly do❤️❤️❤️

Third, to those of you, when I said I already had mowers given to me but I knew some folks who really could use them and you jumped at the chance to help them that was one of my favorite parts of this whole thing. One of you actually delivered the big 48" John Deere mower to them and I know you felt the total joy of helping someone in need that I often experience, from being there with you when we surprised them. You just don't know how appreciative they have been, sending me several thank you messages since. I'm smiling just typing this now. Thank you so much❤️

Next, two of you hand delivered me two of the mowers pictured. One is a 24HP Craftsman rider that is in really good shape, it totally replaces the one that burned. The other is a 46" Husqvarna zero turn, it starts right up and runs great- going to do a little work on the deck and steering on it to make it even better. You guys didn't hesitate at all to load those up and delivery them straight to me. Just unbelievable kindness, thank you so much ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Lastly, regarding the beautiful brand new Ariens Edge LT zero turn mower. A couple who were out of the country working, offered to buy the new mower. I told them it would be a huge blessing but it was just too much. They said no it's just the right amount and they were so happy to do it. They made me promise not to acknowledge them publicly and ordered it in my name at Lowe's and I went and picked it up. I was so excited I just couldn't stand myself.

The first lawn I cut with it was for someone recovering from cancer who had received a notice of a fine for uncut lawn from the city. When I pulled up it literally looked like a hayfield, I wasn't sure how it would perform but it made short work of it and the lady was just thrilled to have her yard done so nicely. It was a huge worry lifted from her.

The second lawn I cut with it was for a lady who had been working full-time and taking care of her sick father. When I told her I was heading to her place to cut she said she really appreciated it because her father she had cared for a very long time had just passed away. 😢

I'll make sure that new mower, and the others continue to pay it forward to those who need it most. The amount of kindness these will help spread and the pure worry it'll save folks who have no where else to turn is completely priceless and unbelievably appreciated. All of you who reached out in the multiple different ways are the epitome of spreading kindness. You are what is right in this world and are a true blessing to me and all those I try to help. A huge THANK YOU to all of you!!!

Hope all you Dads have a very Happy Father's Day!

Big shout out to Mike Cahal! He had asked to borrow the tile saw. When I went to get it out for him I noticed it had been returned with a huge crack in the water pan. I didn't want to tell him it wouldn't work so I quickly taped it up with some duct tape and covered it with a black trash bag so it would hold water enough for him to use it until I had time to either fix it better or buy a new pan. Mike took the initiative to expoxy the crack up and reline the bottom of the pan completely and returned it to me fixed!

You just don't know how much I appreciate that. There is so much here to constantly work on that when someone does something like that it saves me valuable time, money and headache. It's like a breath of fresh air when struggling to breath. On top of fixing it he also donated a floor installation kit, I only had one- having two is great because it seems anytime one person asks for it, another needs it as well.

Thanks so much Mike! Such a nice thing to do for me and the whole community ❤️❤️❤️
