Brethren Care Village is proud to announce that its “Play for Parkinson’s… Until We Find a Cure” campaign has raised $259,684, more than 94% of its $275,000 goal, to establish a new Parkinson’s Support Center within the Wellness & Community Center.
The announcement was celebrated during Brethren Care Village’s annual golf outing, which welcomed more than 150 golfers, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters—making it the organization’s best-attended outing in the past 12 years.
For more than two decades, Brethren Care Village has provided a dedicated space for the local Parkinson’s Support Group. The new Parkinson’s Support Center will build upon that commitment by expanding specialized therapy services, educational opportunities, support groups, programming, and resources for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their families throughout the greater community.
Brethren Care Village extends its sincere gratitude to Volunteer Campaign Chair Ralph Tomassi, along with John Shultz, Dwight McElfresh, Ev DeVaul, and Mike Law, for their leadership and dedication. Special recognition is also extended to Kristine Miller and Amber Howell for their efforts in grant writing, fundraising, research, and event coordination.
Major campaign supporters include Jim and Barb Chandler, through an endowment established at the Ashland County Community Foundation; Vicky Lippert and Sutton Bank, each supporting the campaign at the $25,000 leadership level; and the Law Family, whose $50,000 lead gift secured naming rights for the center.
During the event, a ceremonial check for $259,684 was presented to Brethren Care Village Board members, representing the generosity of donors and the community’s commitment to the project.
Brethren Care Village continues to seek support to reach the final $275,000 campaign goal and move forward with Phase One of the Parkinson’s Support Center.
Together, we will continue to Play for Parkinson’s… Until We Find a Cure.
