Across the county, residents are operating micro-farms, cultivating community and restaurant gardens, and producing food in their own backyards. In response, the NC Cooperative Extension began an urban agriculture program to support the increased interest - but now, it needs you to help the program grow.

Our local NC Cooperative Extension is inviting Buncombe County farmers, gardeners, and homesteaders to respond to the Urban Agriculture Survey to help shape educational programming. The quick survey takes about 5-7 minutes to complete and focuses on production practices, training needs, barriers to farming or gardening, and the state of urban agriculture in your area.

The survey is open through Tuesday, October 20. It is available in English, Spanish, and Russian.

We are looking forward to this year’s West Asheville Garden Stroll It is always enjoyable and enlightening. It is a great pleasure to support this community event.

Holiday weekend brunch tomorrow? is a long time Stroll supporter and a family-owned restaurant, featuring an on-site production garden providing fresh produce just steps from the kitchen. Highly recommended.
