This week's harvest is looking beautiful: crisp lettuce, tender broccolini, and vibrant kale, all grown right here on our farm. There's something special about picking vegetables in the morning and serving them in your salad later that same day.

At Haywood Common, we believe great food starts with great ingredients. By growing many of our own vegetables, we're able to bring you salads and seasonal dishes packed with freshness, flavor, and nutrients while supporting a more sustainable and local food system.

When you enjoy a salad , you're tasting the work of our farmers, our kitchen team, and the rich growing season of Western North Carolina—all on one plate.

From our farm to your fork!

At Haywood Common, we believe a great salad starts at the roots. That’s why many of our greens—including our kale, bibb lettuce, cilantro, spinach, and arugula—come straight from our farm directly to our kitchen.

Whether you need a light, refreshing lunch or a hearty side to pair with your meal, we’ve got a bowl with your name on it. Check out the current rotation:

HOUSE SALAD (Vegan): A timeless classic with local bibb lettuce, cucumber, pickled red onion, and crunchy croutons.
KALE CAESAR: Our unique spin features chopped kale, parmesan, a cornbread crumble, caper-anchovy tapenade, pepperoncini, and a savory fish sauce caesar dressing.
THAI SALAD (Vegan): Pack in the crunch with chopped kale, cabbage, carrot + onion slaw, cucumber, fresh herbs, almonds, and pepperoncini.
COBB SALAD: Loaded with local bibb lettuce, bacon, goat cheese, a medium-boiled local egg, pickled onion, avocado, and our signature nutritional yeast vinaigrette.
GRAIN SALAD (Vegan without feta): A nutrient-dense mix of quinoa, artichoke, pepperoncini, capers, roasted beets, cucumber, avocado, feta, almonds, and a bright preserved lemon vinaigrette.
BEET SALAD: A beautiful mix of golden beets, asparagus, pecans, goat cheese, miso yuzu vinaigrette, and a touch of strawberry jam.
You honestly can't go wrong with any of them. Stop by today for lunch on the patio or dinner with friends!

Meet our fabulous farm daddy, Bek .herbs 🌱🔥🚜

All of this was made possible by their dedication to overseeing and organizing this little farm project from raw pasture land to our 150 sq ft plot for growing veggies and herbs for Haywood Common following regenerative practices that give back to the land.

Having little experience with farming ourselves, but a passion for serving food grown with sustainable and organic practices to our customers, we were searching for the perfect person to assist us in the creation of this project and the universe sent us Bek!

We have been working over the last year using multiple no-till approaches for our rows. With Bek's wealth of knowledge and serious sweat equity, they along with our handful of farm cronies have made this all possible.

Currently we are providing kale, lettuce, collards, cilantro, basil, broccoli, arugula, peas, zucchini, cucumber, radish, beets and edible flowers for Haywood Common with tomatoes, peppers and okra just around the riverbend!

Thank you Bek for all you do and for helping us close the loop for our seed to table project!
