Tonight was the final night for one of Asheville’s most beloved food trucks — El Kimchi. After 14 amazing years of serving up Korean-Mexican fusion, laughter, and love, Don & Joanne have officially retired.

They weren’t just a food truck — they were family. Through storms, through hard times, and through so much joy, they were there for us all.

We stopped by tonight, their last night, at New Belgium — and though they were sold out, their kindness still overflowed.

Thank you, El Kimchi. For the food, the love, and the memories. ❤️

❤️Hello, Asheville. The time has come.
After a delicious, fun, and memorable 14 years of serving you, our loyal fans, the time has come for Don and Joanne to hang up our aprons and retire. It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since we first opened the El Kimchi food truck back in 2011.
Friday, October 31 will be the last day El Kimchi operates.
We can't think of a better way to say goodbye than where we often loved to be: our final serving will be at New Belgium on October 31st! We sincerely hope you'll come on down one last time and celebrate with us. We'd love to say hello and thank you in person.

Every order, every kind word, and every smile across the counter truly meant the world to us. It's been an absolute honor to be a part of the incredible Asheville food scene and to serve so many wonderful people. Thank you for making our food truck dream a reality. Your love and support helped our family not only to grow and thrive, but also to share our passion for Korean flavors with the community we love. You've truly been like family to us.
