This Sunday marks 2 years since Western North Carolina faced one of its toughest moments. But when we look back at those days now, the storm isn’t what stands out, it’s the people.

These photos, taken a few days after Helene hit, are a reminder of what this community is all about.

We saw neighbors showing up for neighbors, strangers sharing what they had, and a city that leaned on each other to push forward.

Watching this region rebuild over the last 24 months has been beautiful to witness.

We’ve come so far together.

It’s that ongoing, mountain-strong resilience we choose to celebrate today.

Here’s to Asheville, to the 828, and to the people who make this place home ⛰️💙
