Willbloom Books Pop-Up Today, 2-4pm at The Hop & Pop!

Summer reading season is almost upon us, and we’re excited to welcome Willbloom Books mobile bookstore to The Hop Ice Cream & Pop Bubble Tea at 640 Merrimon Ave for an afternoon pop-up celebrating young readers!

Willbloom Books will be bringing their reading bus with a thoughtfully curated selection of Children’s and Middle Grade Books as well as Young Adult Favorites.

Berry In The Pines Ice Cream is back to kick off National Forest Foundation ! A *very small-batch of dairy and vegan* will be be available at all locations while supplies last.

Berry In The Pines features a bright citrus-pine ice cream base infused with local Fraser fir tips and swirled with an Imladris Farm blueberry jam.

Originally created for the National Forest Foundation conference held in Asheville earlier this year, this flavor was inspired by the forests, trails, rivers, and mountain ecosystems that shape so much of life in Western North Carolina. As part of this release, we’re also excited to highlight some of the work being done in our region by the NFF.

One project especially close to home is the reopening of Catawba Falls in Pisgah National Forest (2nd picture). After a multi-year closure and extensive improvements, visitors can once again experience the falls thanks to upgraded trails, overlooks, and safety infrastructure that also help protect the headwaters of the Catawba River.

Today we’re excited to welcome back Bees Knees Ice Cream, one of our all-time favorite seasonal flavors, to all locations of The Hop!

Inspired by the a drink from our friends at Dobra Tea (Asheville, NC) , Bees Knees brings together a beautifully balanced blend of:
🌿 Local fresh mint
🍯 Local honey
🌹 Rose water
💜 Lavender water

Bees Knees Ice Cream will be available throughout the month of June.

The mint featured in Bees Knees is sourced from the incredible Bountiful Cities FEAST Gardens at Hall Fletcher Elementary and Lucy S. Herring Elementary Schools. These gardens help connect students and neighborhoods to fresh food, hands-on learning, and community agriculture, and we’re honored to showcase their harvest in this special flavor.

June is also Pollination Celebration Month! A group of folks in Asheville launched Bee City USA in 2012. Today, the program has grown to nearly 500 chapters in 48 states, all mobilizing communities to conserve pollinators, and especially our native bees.
