East and West locations are changing ownership on April 1st π
A message from the founder Andrew Snavelyβ¦
My 23 year career in the Tea Industry has gracefully come to completion and Iβm feeling whole and grateful ππ
April 1st I am selling my East and West Asheville teahouses to Kevan Frazier an Asheville native who has supported the tearoom since day one and purchased my downtown shop last year.
I want to thank him and our current, incredible staff who I trust will carry the spirit of Tea forward
I first started with Dobra Tea company in 2003 in Burlington, Vermont. I knew from my first visit, the smells, the essence, the flavors I had to be a part of it!
Tea then opened up my life in a huge way! Traveling to many countries such as India, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Czech Republic and Sri Lanka
78 N Lexington opened downtown November of 2010 following West, Black Mountain then East Asheville
Sourcing tea and connecting with farmers, families and devoted drinkers is truly a pack of memories I will cherish forever ππ
I am so grateful to this plant Camellia Sinensis that has taught me so much. The lessons, the awakenings and even the stress at times.
Thank you Asheville and Tea friends for supporting us, believing in the vision and enjoying our space!
Iβd like to give thanks and honor to Jirka Simsa and Ales Jurina the founders of Dobra Tea company in Prague ππ
I want to thank my right hand rock at West Scott! Tricia and Megan for all their delicious magic in the kitchen. Thank you Miles and Gus, Amy, Anna Claire, Nicky and Stephanie for your leadership to this tea-m!
Many thanks to my dad, handyman and my mama Nancy
Thank you Lindsay for partnering with me for so many years and establishing our herbal teas π
Today I sipped at one of my favorite waterfalls the supreme grade of Tamaryokucha a classic favorite I sourced in Kyushu, Japan from the Takunaga family
Thank you, communi-teaπ
Onward and upward
