Remember when Dolly Parton & her corporate partners donated $2 million to the Mountain Ways Foundation to provide immediate assistance to flood victims in NC & TN?

This week they opened up applications for assistance to homeowners in rural areas who had a 100% loss of housing from Helene, with the application deadline of Nov 4.

Hello Community,

I have had to make the decision to close my physical workshop. I will take time to regroup and pivot my business model to be online retail and education, but for now my main focus is to help my local coffee community.

Please help me help them continue to be open and provide you with those fun, quirky places where we love to meet, greet, work and have that moment with our beloved beverage.

We've all been changed by Helene. It has been amazing to see people find ways to make a difference for others while side lining our individual personal pursuits, which can seem small in the face of connecting with others in a greater meaning of saving our community.

Thank you in advance. We are grateful beyond words for the outpouring of support in this staggering turn of events that has been tragic, incomprehensible and will have long lasting consequences. We are humbled by Mother Nature and the humanity of locals as well as strangers from afar who have sprung into action to help WNC in our time need.

Our community is making progress slowly, but surely, and safely. Here is the latest update on western North Carolina including Asheville and Buncombe County:

✈️ The Asheville Regional Airport is open and operating.

🏰 Biltmore has announced plans to welcome guests on November 2.

⛰ Areas of the Pisgah Ranger District have reopened and Grandfather Mountain will reopen tomorrow, October 23.

🌆 Downtown Asheville infrastructure remained largely untouched by the storm, allowing shops and restaurants to reopen, some with limited operations.

⚠️ There are areas that need more time and support. We are mindful that high impact areas—including Biltmore Village, Swannanoa, and parts of the River Arts District—have a much longer road ahead, so travel to these areas is not advised. We are here for our neighbors throughout western North Carolina.
