'Dog Years,' the new album from Slow Runner, is available on our Citizen Soundcheck pre-order platform!

The seventh full length record from by Slow Runner, 'Dog Year's 42 minutes of love, joy, and bittersweet nostalgia (dancing around the house when listening is mandatory). This project sees the return of Michael Flynn and Josh Kaler in a deep collaboration. The album is available in Limited Edition Black Vinyl. This is a PRE-ORDER and will ship one week before release (July 10, 2026).

Just like our approach to record pressing, quality control comes first! Cassettes offer a great way for your fans to access your latest release at a lower price point and they often prefer this at a crowded show ... toting around a 12” record is not always an option!

Obi, short for obigami, refers to the paper “belt” that is wrapped around a freshly packaged record. These first appeared in Japan back in the 1960s as a way to “localize” pressings for that market. As the golden age of Japanese vinyl manufacturing continued throughout the decade, collectors looked to these as a mark of high quality, audiophile level pressings. While most buyers discarded them, the few remaining intact examples can fetch a huge premium today.

In addition to the history, we love the added real estate these provide for graphic artists to enhance the look and feel of the record. If you’d like to add these to your next pressing package, just let us know and we’ll walk you through the design process!

CV's VP of sales & marketing Brent Manning and production manager Seth Alder compared two LPs under a microscope. The first was an album reissued by another press that had poor sound quality (pink slide); the second was a an LP recently pressed at Citizen Vinyl (blue slide).

Check out Brent's blog post "Under the Microscope" for more about how the sound quality can actually be seen, and audio issues show up as flecks of contamination in the vinyl.

Each session of pressings at Citizen Vinyl is played and reviewed by an actual human on a daily basis. We press extra units to allow for our technicians to have the freedom to recycle those that do not meet our standards.

Yasmin Williams — whose 2021 album “Urban Driftwood’ was pressed at Citizen Vinyl — plays an Asheville, NC show on Friday, May 29 at Revival Asheville. Show at 7pm, doors at 6pm. Jane Kramer, Songstress opens.

Yasmin Williams grew up in Northern Virginia. While earning a degree in music theory and composition at NYU, she began to explore nontraditional approaches to the acoustic guitar, developing a fingerstyle technique with the instrument resting on her lap. She sometimes positions her kalimba, the African thumb piano, atop the guitar so she can play both at once. She also plays kora, harp guitar, doubleneck guitar, banjo, and percussion instruments.

Yasmin’s most recent album is ‘Acadia,’ on which she collaborates with artists such as vocalist Aoife O’Donovan, violinist Darian Donovan Thomas, the folk quartet Darlingside, synthesist Rich Ruth, and jazz alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins.

Happy birthday 🎉 to Walk Around the Moon — Dave Matthews Band's pandemic-era studio album — which just turned 3.

Citizen Vinyl recently pressed "DMBLive - Appalachian State University - Boone, NC - 03/29/2003" 6xLP set and "DMB Live Trax Vol. 72: 06/28/2025 - Huntington Bank Pavilion," a 4xLP set for super fans. We hope to continue working with Dave Matthews Band in the future!
