A Bittersweet Farewell & an Exciting New Beginning

After four wonderful years of serving the beautiful Asheboro community and surrounding areas, Gather Restaurant on MLK has officially closed its doors. We are deeply grateful for every guest who walked through them. While changes in the economy and our evolving menu brought challenges, we acknowledge that consistency was not always our strength. To those who were disappointed, we sincerely apologize. To those who supported us through every season — thank you. Your loyalty and kindness meant the world to us.

But with every ending comes a new beginning...Exciting News: CHIVES Opens Today!

We’re thrilled to announce that CHIVES is opening in Gather’s former location on MLK — starting today! You’ll see some fresh new faces and some familiar ones too. CHIVES will feature a mix of beloved classics and bold, elevated new dishes that bring fresh flavor to Asheboro.

Join us on Saturday, June 14th from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm as we at Gather host a benefit for Erick and Amy Luther!

Erick is currently in the PCU, and we are not sure when he may be able to come home. They told them it will have to be a 2-day trip once that time comes, as his health won’t allow the 9-hour drive without an overnight hotel stay to rest his body. They have also told him it will be a long recovery once he is home, and he will require home health services as well. Amy and Erick have exhausted all PTO time they had left, have both been out of work and he does not have long-term disability insurance. Just the daily costs for Amy to eat and drink while there for all these days has been a lot.Erick is showing some improvement, but it has been and will be a long road for them. He was not expected to pull through those beginning days, but he is still fighting. They were told he had double Pneumonia, RSV, an enlarged spleen and liver and was septic. He was later also diagnosed with Hemophilia Influenza and Legionnaires' Disease and has been on a high level of oxygen while in the ICU.
