We have been an Arlington institution and landmark restaurant and we truly appreciate your support and patronage for the past 31 years! We look forward to continuing our traditions of serving our full menu and great service for years to come!

Our new hours are 6 am- 4 pm daily with our full menu during our hours of operation!

It was the end of an era Sunday (July 5), as Metro 29 Diner concluded 31 years of dinner service. The Langston Blvd landmark is keeping breakfast and lunch service starting at 6 a.m. daily, but will now close at 4 p.m. daily rather than 10 p.m. Peter Bota, one of the restaurant's owners, told

To our wonderful customers,

First, and foremost, thank you!

The passionate response to our recent announcement has reminded us just how much Metro 29 Diner means to so many people.

We have read your comments, listened to your concerns, and understand that many of you are disappointed. We appreciate ALL of you, and your feedback is important to us. We have been privileged to be part of your lives, traditions, and family routines for more than 30 years.

We want everyone to know that this decision was not made lightly.

Like many family-owned businesses, we’ve spent a great deal of time asking ourselves how to continue serving this community for many years to come. We believe that focusing our energy on the breakfast and lunch experience that built this diner is the best path forward.

What is NOT changing is just as important as what is. Our full menu remains available, including your favorite dinner entrées for takeout pickup before 4 PM. The same people, the same recipes, the same coffee, and the same commitment to treating every guest like family will remain exactly as they have always been!

We understand that some of you will miss gathering here in the evenings, and we sincerely appreciate those memories and traditions. We hope you’ll continue making new ones with us over breakfast, lunch, and a slice of pie.

Thank you for your understanding, your support, and your loyalty throughout the years. Our goal is simple: to be here, serving this community with excellence, for many years to come!
