Yesterday we were closed for Memorial Day! Somehow a few online orders got through the online ordering even though the system was turned off.
We have no idea how this happens and even though I’ve researched every toggle square has, I can not understand this issue. The only info I can come up with is there is an internal switch somewhere that allows certain online orders to come through even though the system is off!
I am committed to finding the “kill”switch, but wanted to apologize if you came to pick up an order only to find out we were closed! I am so sorry! We are trying to keep up with all the different toggles square has added, they are updating and adding weekly to their program- I just wanted to make sure you knew how very sorry I am!!!
Those tickets were refunded first thing this morning!

We will be closed Monday -May 25th for Memorial Day.

Just as an update-
Square has rolled out a ton of new things/features/strange additions that we are not aware of until they pop up and have to enable (which is not an easy task on the square) it’s also changed the way the online ordering has always been (which we are still trying to figure out!) we hope to have everything figured out this week! Thank you for bringing that to our attention!!!!

Tomatos have become ridiculously expensive. And not nearly as pretty as this picture. We are holding off on using tomatos until the prices come down. For whatever reason they have risen 3X what they normally are and do not look appetizing. This should only be temporary, from what we understand the crops are better but it hasn’t been reflected yet in price or appearance.

Today -
Thank you for allowing me to share what the Tin Cup means to me and my family!
I am so thankful for all the many years and all the employees and customers whom we have grown to love over the years!
My current Team who we love and appreciate so very much!
To Aidan (my amazing sandwich maker and an amazing young man!)
Deen (who is just the sweetest kid and about to marry Mackenzie in a few months ❤️)
Jamil (who lights up the room with his smile)
Frank (who I have watched grow up over the years and thankful he decided to come home for college)
Jacey (who we have loved since the day she was born and so happy we get to see daily!)
Belle (who has grown so much over the past few years and who we rely on a lot!)
Mallorie (who leaves us in July but has been an honor to have!)
Trevor (my newest and the one who has excelled so far wherever we have put him!)
AJ (you rock!!)
We have such a good team right now!! So grateful and thankful for everything they do!! I don’t have a current pic of them all together but we will get some this week!
Our actual anniversary is April 21st. We turn 23! And it’s been the greatest blessing (outside of our family) in our lives!!
THANK YOU!!!

2025-Today
In 2025 Damon and I celebrated being married for 35 years and although he doesn’t know and doesn’t have a Facebook (so how will he know??) this post is for him. Damon is the one you see daily, taking orders in line, clearing off tables, asking how everything was. He’s the first one to the shop in the morning, prepping, ordering, doing all the things. And most days he’s the last one to leave.
I had always wanted a coffee shop. Or at least most of our marriage. The first 10 years we moved all over the country, in search of a good agent, a good role, more acting opportunity. Rayvyn was born on the east coast and Harris on the west. I worked days so he could audition during the day and he worked nights. When we finally moved back home to Texas, chose Arlington and bought our first home - we were finally planting roots. I was working from sun up to sun down, managing a restaurant and missing a lot of my kids daily activities. So when Damon came home and said I found this place up the street to lease, let’s go check it out- I jumped at the chance. He supported me every step of the way. While I was filing all the paperwork and getting the business established, he was painting, cleaning and hanging dry wall panels in the kitchen.
We bought “oops” paint, secondhand decor and made the shop on a very small budget.
The night before we did a “dry” run for our family, I was so scared with all the unknowns, Was this the right thing to do? Will we succeed? What if it’s just horrible…and he said “honey-it’s gonna be great”. And that was that. And it has been.
Being married is hard. Running a business with your spouse is extremely hard. But having him by my side, every step of the way -priceless!

I will recap because I jumped ahead but today is a special post!
AJ has been my one constant throughout our years. She means the absolute world to me.
Today she is being honored and I can’t think of anyone more deserving.
Today is officially Anna Jacy Cummings DAY! By proclamation by Mayor Ross!
There is only one AJ and she is amazing. AJ isn’t just a great employee, she’s a great friend to all the employees who have come and gone over the years, she remembers birthdays, brings little gifts for everyone on holidays-makes sure people get cards for special occasions, loves the shop like it’s her own. From the first time I met her right before her 21st birthday to just celebrating her 40th I have watched her grow into a confident, beautiful woman who has not only made a place in the Carney family forever - but she dug her heels in and now we just won’t let her go! ❤️❤️
Her 20th anniversary is coming up in October and it’s been an absolute blessing to have her at my side this entire time! I know I have posted many times about AJ over the years, but the thing is- she is irreplaceable to us.
The first few years she was quiet and shy and you never knew she was mad at you unless she called you by a different name! 😂
Then she became more confident and she started working on the line - today she gets every new employee for a day to teach them “Bradis way”of cleaning, closing, mopping all the things!! She steps in wherever it’s needed and she holds herself to a very high standard. I just love her so much!
When I say my life has benefitted greatly, I say that through tears!
I asked AJ if she wanted to write something for this track down memory lane and in AJs words-

My question is what is The Tin Cup for me?
It’s like my second home.🥰. I’ve been there almost 20 years -actually on October 10, 2026.
It has been my great honor to work with Bradi & Damon and to watch their kids grow up and begin their own families and lives. I have so many great memories like being part of Rayvyn’s wedding and Harris’ film. But mostly just being there every day with ya’ll. I love the way you treat people and help all of us be the best we can by setting that example.

LOVE AJ
