I will be set up at the Rustic Relics craft show next weekend, Sept 18 from 3-7pm and Sept 19 from 9am-2pm. The show is held in the Vander Wal seed shed located 3/4 mile west of Volga on the north side of the highway.

This may be the only show I do all year, so make sure to come visit me!

I want to hear from YOU! If you plan to come out, let me know what you would like me to have on my table! So far I am planning cupcake mixed boxes, a variety of cookies, and possibly muffin boxes or bread loaves.

My main flavors are regular Sandwich Bread, Honey Oat Sandwich Bread, and Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread, but can do others upon request! They are $15/loaf.

Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

The star of this cake is the silky smooth cream cheese frosting! The texture of this cake is so light and fluffy and the frosting compliments it so well. It's not too sweet or overbearing. Perfect for a light afternoon dessert.

One of the first cakes I ever decorated was back in 2014 at a cake decorating competition among students at SDSU. Every once in a while I see the picture of that cake pop up. I have wanted to recreate it for a while and I finally got around to it this week!

During the competition, we were provided with the cake and frosting. We were allowed to bring additional decoration pieces, food coloring, and tools. The frosting was rather warm and we didn't have access to a fridge which meant I had major issues with it holding its shape as I piped it. The overall design came out pretty good, but I was disappointed with the frosting situation.

This time around, I was able to use the frosting I like working with, had access to all of my tools, and of course did not have the temperature issue. In my opinion, it turned out so cute!

Brown Butter Chocolate Pecan Cookies

It's been a minute since I last posted. This summer has been a whirlwind with family trips, sports, baking for weddings, etc. Sharing what I have been working on has gotten away from me. So, we are throwing it back to one of my favorite bakes. These cookies are no ordinary chocolate chip cookies. The brown butter brings a robust buttery and nutty flavor while the chopped chocolate and roasted pecans make every bite unique. Truly one of my favorite cookies.
