Hey everyone! I'm reaching out from the heart of DC, where memories are made over coffee and conversations. It all started when life turned up the volume unexpectedlyâI found myself and my daughter among those who call the streets home after hitting rock bottom with my own housing situation. But in that darkest hour, a glimmer of hope ignited within me: "One day, I'll be here to help others like us find their footing."
Fast forward to 2023, and my dream became realityâI opened the doors to Brij Coffee in Arlington, VA. Every day was about more than just coffee; it was a chance for connection, comfort, and community building. I poured everything into this place because every customer who walked through those doors deserved a warm welcome, a friendly face, and that extra push towards stabilityâjust like someone once did for me when I needed it most.
But life is unpredictable, as we all know too well in our line of work supporting the homeless community. Despite my passion, hard work, and dedication to making this cafe not just another stop but a home away from home, the unexpected happened: We had to close down. It was heart-wrenching, seeing that sign go upâmy dream felt like it crumbled before me.

Iâve secured two new leases in DC with big visions for this project, but now comes the real challengeâfinancing the operation to ensure we can keep our doors open and offer support without missing a beat.
