Sold hella Crispy Chicken Tacos 🌮 for Taco Week last week!! You know we don’t sell chicken, ever. The Crispy Chicken Taco Trio outsold our Smash Burger 🍔 every night, this never happens . Maybe with The Cubano, but not like this.

In my opinion I think it should have been a contest where he cast votes, but hell, lots of happy customers and Im sure you will see South G running chicken in the near future.

Every Chef I have ever worked for told me “Danny you’re not going to be happy until you do this for yourself”. So 3 years ago I took the leap and opened a food truck and hired all my friends. No looking back.

Humboldt, not sure if you know, but there is a movement happening below the surface involving localizing our food systems. We have some incredible people in Humboldt County that created The Harvest Hub, a branch off the . Now schools, institutions, and restaurants can order Humboldt County produce and local products directly.

This is a big fu***ng deal.

South G has been ordering through the Harvest Hub for a couple months, incorporating local produce into our regular menu. I am on the steering committee, which is made up of farmers, NCGA board members, and restauranteurs. We are a farmer-centric community and we need to celebrate by localizing our food systems. It’s time.

I’ve known him since I was 5. I’ve known her since I was 16. Been friends forever, best man in their wedding, all that. Bray and I fell in love with food at the same time as kids cooking in my moms kitchen. When we were kids we wouldn’t have believed u if u told us we would be doing the same thing for a living on opposite sides of the country. It’s a beautiful thing. 🍔 💚

Today is Joes last day at South G Kitchen. I’ve worked with Joe in 3 different kitchens now, my longest running coworker nxt is Carlyn. people will tell u nvr hire ur friends/don’t be friends with ur employees. Mother f**k that.

I promise u one thing ur friends will NVR f**k u…they have been there since the start, u have talked endlessly about ur dreams and aspirations. On camping trips, river trips, blunt rides, all of it. They are invested in you and it’s important to them to see u succeed. I promise that’s how it works.
Anyways thank u Joe so much, I’m excited for u and ur future and cant express how much I appreciate u as an employee but much more as one of my best friends.
