I’m sad to report that Rod’s Grill is no more.

After sitting vacant for almost 2 years untouched, and looking like it could reopen, a demo crew arrived and gutted the interior.

The new owners are registered as a restaurant group out of Washington state and there’s a new application for a liquor license on the window. It is doubtful it will return as Rod’s

As a business owner myself, it always puzzles me as to why somebody would buy a successful business and then completely destroy it or what most of them do is change the menu around and then they end up going out of business.

It’s a new generation that doesn’t understand the importance of heritage and preserving history.

At least we all have the memories…

Four generations of our family have eaten here. These are the fourth generation when they were just babes. Our tradition was to eat breakfast at Rod’s every Christmas morning after we opened gifts.

As the creator of this page, I have changed the title until such a time that We are informed of an updated status of our favorite restaurant

In 2011, I noticed that there was a page for Rods, but Manny had never claimed it. The very simple explanation was that he did not have a smart phone. 

12 years later, you can see what the page has grown into without any paid advertising, just loyal customers of the restaurant

As of February 28, 2023 the official word is there hasn’t been any official word .  I have “heard” that the individual who purchased Rods was in fact, a customer, and lives in the city. . That is all.

Updates will be posted when I receive them .

As a 51 year customer of Rod’s Grill, number four, and a member of a family that shared four generations of meals here , I hope all of you will continue to contribute posts and memories so that we can all share them .

Good morning! ☀️

Today, on behalf of the Romero Family and with a heavy heart, we would like to announce that Rod’s Grill will be closing on Sunday, February 12th.

Rod’s Grill will be going under new ownership and we wish them the best on this new journey!

We want to thank our Rod’s Family for all the hard work and for going above and beyond each and every shift. We value your effort, your time, your faithfulness to Rod’s Grill and our Dad. We love you guys!!

To our lovely customers, thank you for all the years of being able to serve you some fresh cup of coffee with some biscuts and gravy, or a nice Manny’s Crepe Combo, or a Waffle Breakfast, or a bowl of Menudo on the weekend, or some Chile Verde, or a nice Manny’s Burger with a vanilla shake, or some Fried Chicken with mash potatoes, the list can definitely go on, but, THANK YOU for making this journey so much more fun and for all the love and support that you gave to our Dad all these years. He loved to talk to you all.

We will miss all of you!! 🤗❤️
