For Kevin and Melanie Barksdale, The Bee’s Knees Play Café wasn’t just about opening a business.

With 26+ years of experience in coaching and education, they’ve seen firsthand just how important play is in helping kids learn, grow, build confidence, and connect with others.

So they created a place where kids could explore, imagine, create, and grow through play—and where families could actually enjoy those moments together.

That’s the heart behind Bee’s Knees. 💛

And now, families can come experience it for themselves!

So… why did we create Bee’s Knees? 🐝💛

Because Kevin and Melanie Barksdale know firsthand how important play is for kids. With 26+ years in coaching and education, they wanted to create a place where kids could just be kids—while learning, exploring, imagining, and making friends along the way.

From pretending in Happy Hollow to racing down the slides, discovering new skills, or getting creative with friends, everything at Bee’s Knees was built around one thing:

𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬.

Because sometimes the best learning happens when nobody even realizes they're learning. 🥹💛

And honestly? We think parents deserve to have a little fun, too. 😉
🐝 Come play, make some memories, and see what Bee’s Knees is all about!

POV: You find out you’re our favorite customer. 🥹
Plot twist: it’s YOU. 💛

Every kid who runs through our doors, every family who comes back for another playdate, every birthday party, every coffee run, every scoop of Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream…

YOU are the reason Bee’s Knees is what it is.

Thanks for letting us be part of your family’s fun. 🐝💛

Now send this to your favorite Bee’s Knees person and make sure they know they’re the favorite too. 😂

09/14/2026

We didn’t build Bee’s Knees just for kids. We built it for FAMILIES. 💛

Our indoor playground was designed around the idea that everyone plays together.

That means parents aren’t stuck sitting on the sidelines while the kids have all the fun. 🙌

Jump in. Dance. Play pretend. Run around. Make your kids laugh until their cheeks hurt.

Because years from now, they’re not going to remember that you sat and watched them play.

They’re going to remember YOU PLAYING WITH THEM. 🥹💛

So consider this your official permission slip to get in there and PLAY.
