We're not re-posting for praise, but for awareness.
A wise friend of ours once said, "People gotta eat." And this couldn't be more true these days.
Food insecurity, and scarcity is very real, and it's here in our home and backyard. Even more so as SNAP benefits were taken away and then folks being told that they'll only be receiving maybe half, and who knows when, of what they need to survive during an already inflationary economy. It's important that we look out for each other and our community, especially those who are most vulnerable, and even more during these most difficult times.
When the community comes together, to take care of one another, it's a really beautiful thing, and we're just following the lead of so many other friends and comrades in the community who we've seen make other generous donations of food and homemade meals to the Hope Fridge in Menasha and in Oshkosh, in addition to friends and other businesses being drop-off locations for non-perishable items, and teaming up with local food pantries.
So, please send all the praise to the volunteers at the Hope Fridge, and the wonderful folks at People of Progression for hosting the fridge in their back parking lot in Menasha (located at 332 Broad St, Menasha). And Trinity Episcopal Church for hosting a fridge in front of their building at 203 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh. And don't forget about our Furry Family Members! Captain Dave's Pet Pantry is a wonderful local organization that provides cat and dog food for families in need as well.
This is our call to action to our community. Please, if you have the means to give, every little bit helps. So please keep the donations flowing, help keep the fridges and pantries stocked, and if you feel inspired reach out and find ways to help, donate, organize, and build our community up. When we went to stock the Hope Fridge and Pantry in Menasha, much of what we dropped off was gone very quickly. This community, OUR Community needs our help.
What we do for each other and our community and those most vulnerable, shows what we're about, as a society. We hope everyone can continue to come together and help one another. Every act, big or small, makes an impact.
