Today's post was planned to be short and sweet. However...
First off, thank you for your compassion and understanding when you come into restaurants and see that they are experiencing a labor shortage.
We feel the moral obligation to be the voice on behalf of us and our friends of local small businesses in our community. While mask mandates are being lifted and health restrictions are becoming more lenient, we cannot deny the lasting negative affects it has imprinted on our businesses. It has left us still understaffed and forced to make drastic changes in our operations.
Although we are slowly making progress with customers returning, please remember, we're all undergoing a "one step forward, two steps back" process such as reducing business hours or services, and sometimes the unexpected closings on certain days because of the now never-ending shortage of labor-- which contributes to the continued negative financial affect. That and with inflation rearing its head at every turn, it's adding salt to the wound.
Despite so, the time has come for us at Koreana to personally take our worn aprons off the hooks and put them on so we can continue to give customers what they want.
We don't hesitate to run our small business like how we run our family: with honesty, cooperation, some elbow grease, sacrifices, compromise, and love.
It's all that we believe in, which makes us truly a small family-owned business. We care about our customers. We deeply understand the ongoing hardship that family-owned businesses are still experiencing...Something the government and large corporations could not possibly sympathethize with during the height of the pandemic and even now.
So for those who have read this far, thank you!
In order to accommodate you the best we can with the minimal staffing we have, we are letting you know...We now have sushi. ❤️
