The Mercantile will be closed September 23rd–28th as our family heads to the beach to celebrate our Granny’s 80th Birthday Week! 🎉

We’re so thankful for the time to celebrate this very special milestone with her. ❤️

Twenty-five years ago today, I was sitting in the cafeteria at Appalachia Elementary School, sent there by Ms. Rollins to measure the entire cafeteria with a one-foot ruler.

Teachers got creative sometimes with ways to get my big mouth out of class.

I remember being called back to see the big-screen TV. The towers had been struck.

It was a feeling you don’t forget.

Somehow, it has already been a quarter century, but that feeling still feels fresh.

Today, we remember all of the innocent people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We also remember the countless men and women who answered the call and went to battle for our country in the years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

We are blessed to live in the United States of America, and we should never take that blessing for granted. 🇺🇸
